Hutch was adopted!
Update April 2014:
Ginny,
Wanted to send you a quick update on Hutch, who we renamed Casey. Feel free to share/add to success stories. We think Casey is an amazing success!! :)
Casey is an amazing dog. He has added energy to the house and has integrated smoothly with his two sisters. He is a lover who wants to be in someone's lap or in some one's arms and loves everyone he meets. Some of his favorite things are: playing fetch, chewing up tennis balls, dinner, cookies, going for walks, sleeping in bed, and curling up in front of the fire with his sisters. He has learned his name, and the commands for 'sit' 'heel' and 'come'... he has almost mastered 'stay.'
He does keep us on our toes though!! He can jump straight off the ground onto the center island, counters and table(3 1/2 feet!) He managed to clear surfaces several times and ingest way to many things before we finally convinced him to stay on the floor ;) He also, in the first week, figured out how to use his paws to open cabinets, trash cans and baby gates! He DOES want to please though, so as soon as he finds out we are not too happy with a 'new trick' he tends to tow the line.
He has a great personality and is developing a different relationship with each of his new sisters. He is playful with Tess (our more rambunctious Doxie/beagle), bringing her toys and seeking her out to play chase; and more respectful with Noel (our senior Doxie/Chi who is a bit delicate) who he likes to cuddle with and sleep with. We love watching them meld into their happy pack!
Thank you so much for rescuing Casey and bringing him into our home. He is just the perfect addition. And Thank you again for rescuing John in memory of Tally- we are so glad he found a home quickly- we love the picture you sent and keep it on the mantle- we hope to donate to rescue another next year.
Thank you so much for everything that you do!!
